This project has been funded with support from the European Commission. This project reflects the views only of the author.
O’ Brennan National School implemented the European Union Erasmus + inter-school partnership project “Junior Business Minds Selling Online Eco-Traditional Games”. Greece, Croatia, Spain, Italy, Latvia and Ireland are participating in the project.
This project aims to promote the autonomy of students and increase their skills, creating a real meaningful context where they can learn and put into practice the basis of entrepreneurial skills.
Young entrepreneurs will create a company with different departments that will sell traditional games online.
The final result of the project will be a guide, written by the students, with the steps to follow in order to successfully create an online sales company.
Students will develop their skills in English, the arts, and technology. The project has a cultural and traditional background: when searching for traditional games, students will connect with the roots of their culture and the traditions of different cultures. So they will realize what makes their culture unique and, at the same time, they will see what makes them different and what makes them similar between the different cultures of the project.
The entrepreneurial skills that students will learn will give them skills that can be used in their adult lives. Teachers will also learn to include these skills in the educational curriculum of the center.
The use of technology throughout the project and the introduction to sustainability, using recycled materials to create the products, will be an added value to the innovative success of the project, during which the students will work cooperatively.
This project will help all participants develop multiple activities, such as creativity, leadership, autonomy, critical thinking, environmental awareness and technological skills. Academic skills will be improved from real experiences that will help them in their future career.
