KA210-SCH - Small-scale partnerships in school education.
2022 / 2024
The importance of Cultural Awareness and Active Citizenship will always be great now and in the future. Cultural Understanding and Active Citizenship is necessary for a wide range of analytical, problem-solving, participatory, responsible, and sensitive beings to social problems.
The importance of Active Citizenship for schools has come to light with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Most of the families of children who had to stay at home due to the closure of schools during the COVID-19 epidemic applied to guidance services in our schools and complained that their children were introverted and insensitive.
Unicef explains that “The mental health of millions of children worldwide has been put at risk, with at least one in seven forced to remain at home under nationwide public health orders – or recommendations – during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Schools need to reach these students and help them to feel that they are not alone and we need their participation and life energy.
They need to meet new friends and share their experiences and feelings they had during the pandemic and learn with peers from different countries that they have the same feelings and that they are not alone in the world.
They encourage each other to be optimistic, more tolerant, and creative.
The project meets the needs of the target group through the planned activities and final products, the students will improve their basic skills and key competences for today’s society where there is a demand for good English, ICT, communicative, social and civic skills, cultural awareness, tolerance, respect for the others, democratic values and entrepreneurship.
The project will:
» reach their needs of becoming responsible for the environment that surrounds them, preserving Nature, saving Water and Energy, Recycling wastes, and becoming more active citizens.
» contribute to teaching them to create a Future where they want and deserve to live.
