The week was dedicated to the training activities for teachers focusing every effort on the main objectives included into the project like its organisation and timing. The main activities done can be summed up as follows:
DAY 1 – It was the opening ceremony of the project at the presence of local authorities, families, students and teachers involved into the project. Moreover, local partners, firms and stakeholders were presents during the cerimony. All partners spoke of their school and town showing photos and videos.
During the meeting, the Coordinator explained the objective of the project and all activities to be done to reach the prefixed results. The meeting was a moment during which ideas were shared, and each partner showed its presentation including tasks, strategies to be used in the project. The day closed with the presentation of traditional Sicilian sweets thanks to Giorgio Clesceri's Company.
DAY 2 – The Workshop was opened with the activity about the concept design of a firm and its technical management including the analysis of the territory compared with strenghts and weaknesses.The activity was treated by experts and teachers and the topics were: Concept design of a Company taking in consideration all strategies to design a vision, mission, and objectives of a company. Moreover, it was showed the Case history about the Susino Sanacore and the SlowFood Presidium, Legal forms for a Company, and the design of a Business Plan. During the second part of the day, all partners were involved within practical activity linked to the topics above mentioned.
In the afternoon, all group was involved in visiting activity to small and medium company in Monreale and precisely at the Antico Biscottificio Modica and Ceramiche di Bisanzio to observe their productions and to talk with the owner about the management of the company. The visit continued with the tour into the Cathedral of Monreale and its ancient cloister.
DAY 3 – The activity of the Workshop was focused on Cultural Heritage as drive for local development (by ITALIA NOSTRA) and the interesting activity about the environment made by ARPA Sicilia. During the second part, all partners were involved in the practical acitivity for the design of a Logo and all strategies for their own brand including SWAT analysis and business plan. The activity was focused about the knowledge of instruments to create a company and strategies to use for its design. In the afternoon, the visits of the old town including GAM was made as well.
DAY 4 – Workshop at Villa Adriana visiting the Gisella Mandalà's bags factory. The topic was focused on Cultural identity as driver for local companies and international markets. During the activity, all partners completed the practical activity about their own products to be selled within international markets. In the afternoon the group was involved to visit the Monastry of St. Caterina d'Alessandria, the visit of "I segreti dell'antico chistro" sweets factory, and the visit to the Eagles Palace where there is the City Council of Palermo. The group was received by the Mayoyr of Palermo, Mr. Leoluca Orlando, and his vice Mr. Fabio Giambrone.
DAY 5 – Visit at Cefalù and Castelbuono. Moreover, all teachers were involved in the visits of Fiasconaro's Panettoni factory in Castelbuono, the visits of two important and ancient shops in Cefalù: Ciccio Liberto's shoes factory, and the Coiffure Jeunesse by Umberto Chey. In the evening, the farewell dinner was made.
