"Working Towards Sustainability"

The topic of the project week at our school in Penzberg was "Working towards sustainability". The students debated ways of living sustainably. They also found out that sometimes the desire for sustainability clashes with the desire for comfort or with the need to make political compromises.

Getting to know each other

Ice breaker games
Presentation of the schools and home towns of the participating students
Visiting classes as "Erasmus+ ambassadors"
Student guided tour of the school house
Farewell party

Activities to raise awareness for the need of sustanability

Visit of town hall, talk with the town's environmental coordinator about sustainability projects in Penzberg; presentation of the environmental work group of Gymnasium Penzberg
Clothing swap organized by work group "Second hand" (students and teachers brought clothes from home)
Simulation game "climate settlers" at the Center for Environment and Culture in Benediktbeuern
Discussion about possibilities to live a sustainable life
Guided walk through the moors around Benediktbeuern
Workshop "How clean are our clothes?"

Sightseeing and excursions

Walk at the protected landscape "Osterseen"
Trip to Munich:
- Visit of the Damien Hirst exhibition at the Museum of Urban and Contemporary Art
- Self-guided sightseeing treasure hunt in international groups
