Mobility in the Spain

Action plan in Spain

Day 1

On Sunday 4.6. In 2023, the mobility of the 🇪🇺 Erasmus+  "Smart School" project began. Students from partner schools CR and TR traveled to Las Pedroñeras in Spain for Erasmus+ mobility. As part of the Smart School project, they will experience a week full of excursions and activities with visiting students from Spain. Group spent the first day in Madrid, where they visited the Royal Palace and toured the city center. Czech and Turkish project participants traveled by bus to Las Pedroñeras, where they were warmly welcomed by Spanish students and their parents. Students are accommodated in host families, taste local specialties and participate in the family life of their hosts.

Day 2

On the second day, all project participants visited the town hall in Las Pedroneras, where they were officially welcomed by the town's mayor. After the tour of the center, everyone moved to the host school, where the official start of mobility took place with the participation of the school management. There were presentations about the countries of the participants, their cities and schools. Presentations on the art and religion of the participating countries were also part of the meeting. Students played dating games and activities in mixed groups. In the evening they took a trip to Mota del Cuervo, where the ingenious knight Don Quixote de la Mancha fought windmills.

Day 3

On the third day, students visited the ruins of Garcimuñoz Castle, which was renovated in 2017 using contrasting modern architecture. Due to the long-term drought, a unique system was built in the castle in the Middle Ages for capturing and storing rainwater, which flowed through a special channel into the fountain, from where the villagers could take it. After a tour of the village of Garcimuñoz, the students tasted a typical Spanish paella with many appetizers. Lunch was prepared by culinary students in the school kitchen. In the evening, all participants gathered for a garden party organized by the Spanish hosts.

Day 4

On the fourth day, the participants of the project made a climb to the city of Cuenca, a wonderful ancient city built on a rock. The historic part of the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, students visited the Science Museum and worked in mixed international groups in robotics workshops. This was followed by a tour of the city and a visit to the cathedral, where we met the excellent Czech harpsichordist and organist Lucía Guerra Žáková, who lives permanently in Cuenca. The evening program was again organized by Spanish students.

Day 5

On the fifth day, the students went to the historic city of Toledo, a city of three cultures: Christian, Jewish and Muslim. On this day, the Feast of Corpus Christi was celebrated, the whole city was decorated with flowers and colorful carpets. The streets were strewn with sprigs of thyme, giving off a wonderful scent with every step. In the evening, the students gathered for a joint dinner.

Day 6

On the sixth day, students in pairs competed with the Spaniards in an orienteering game around the school. Then they took part in physical education classes, where they played physical activities in international groups. Las Pedroñeras is a center for the cultivation of high-quality purple garlic and the production of quality wines, so the students were invited to visit the companies that process both products. Students and teachers received participation certificates for successfully completed mobility. The participants spent the final evening at Las Pedroñeras having a joint dinner.

Day 6

On the last day, we said goodbye to our dear friends and hosts from Spain, who took care of the guests from the Czech Republic and Turkey all week and prepared a program for them. The farewell was not without emotion and tears, but the students certainly did not see each other for the last time. Two Spanish teachers accompanied both teams to Madrid, where they showed them around the city center and showed them the most interesting sights. The students even visited the famous Santiago Bernabeu football stadium and the Reina Sofia museum, which exhibits the world's most famous works of painters, especially Pablo Picasso and Salvador. We thank the school management, partner schools and the project coordinator for great experiences and the opportunity to make friends and wonderful experiences!
