I have been baffled by this issue for weeks. I bought an Epson p600 6 months ago to produce fine art prints. Initially, the off centering problem occurred but I chalked it up to my inexperience and I trimmed the edge. Fast forward 5 months and I am seriously making 8x10 prints on 8.5x11 paper (all Epson papers) and there is a white border of approximately 1/4". Every single print that I dint compensate for has been off center to the left by 2mm. I have experimented with sheet feed vs front load, other programs than Photoshop, printing from other computers and even testing the same files on other printers. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and even did a clean install to Windows 10. Still, every print is consistently off center to the left by approx 2mm.

I contacted Epson and they sent me a "new" (refurbished) P600 and..... The same problem! I am perplexed. Am I expecting more than this printer can give? Slightly off center is forgivable but 2mm is very noticeable. The 3 Epson techs I talked to had no idea.

What has me entirely baffled is that I will open Microsoft word, set up a centered table and print it on the p600 and it will be off center and then print the same thing on my Canon "all in one" and it is perfectly centered. Shouldnt this monster (for me) printer print centered images at the very least?

hey, did you ever solve this? I'm experiencing exactly the same issue with an Epson 1500W. No matter what i change in the settings I jsut cannot get my prints centered and it's becoming a real headache!

The major reason this is so infuriating is because of its intermittent nature. I seem to always be able to print small page sizes fine (4x6s, letter) in LR, but it's the bigger sheets where I run into this problem. I've finally learned that once this problem starts, even if I can subsequently print smaller prints fine, there is no way to predict if I'll be able to print the bigger sheet sizes with correct centering. Sometimes miraculously the problem goes away--rarely--but usually I'll have wasted another half sheet of 13x19 exhibition fiber paper before i discover the uncentered printing problem.

Now even Preview does not print correctly: similar issues with the LR print to file jpegs not printing centered, or with different sizes (8.5x11 on a 13x19 sheet, for example). Just f@#^ing infuriating.

Now it's August 2022 & luck me, I've just encountered this same bug after having had no problems for the last 3+ years of successful printing in all sizes with my P800. I'm PC-based (WIN10) not Mac. But I'm struggling with this exact same issue. 13x19 Exhibition Fiber seems to be the insurmountable hurdle. I can mostly print successfully with Luster & Glossy but even those are not 100% reliable. The Exhibition Fiber is 100% unreliable. It prints off the paper regardless of margins or cell dimensions or with grossly off-center dimensions.

I've updated firmware, uninstalled & reinstalled printer profiles to no avail. I haven't completely uninstalled the P-800 software yet and reinstall it. I'll try the next.

I am not a novice when it comes to printing with Epson printers & Lightroom. I've been doing so without issue for over 10 years but now I'm baffled by this obvious bug. Something has changed but what? I'll try the suggestions some of you have recommended before calling Epson Support.

Thanks much for this. I'm facing one challenge on my Mac.

When I choose 11x17 Sheet Maximum as my paper size in Page Setup for my 4880, the print driver prevents me for selecting all of the high quality papers. I can choose plain paper and tracing paper. But, all of the higher quality papers under Matte or Fine Art are greyed out.

Why do they work for you and not for me? Do you think it's a problem with the 4880?

BTW, this is new. We used to apply a custom page size with 0" margins and that worked perfectly to center items on a page. Now, the driver or the printer ignores it and shifts the design up ~1/4 inch.

I have a new Epson Stylus Photo R3000 and my prints are not centered with margins at the left and top of .12 inch. There is no option in the printer preferences settings of the R3000 to enable centered printing, no printable area setting like you suggested for the model you are discussing in this blog. The printer didn't even have output paper settings of 11 x 14, 12 x 18, 13 x 19, which I had to create. Any suggestions on how to make my prints centered would be helpful as 3 phone calls to Epson have gotten me nowwhere. They don't even know anything about it. Do I try to make print settings .25 bigger, i.e., 8.25 x 10.25, or 12.25 x 18.25? I am printing onto Letter size and 13 x 19 photo paper.

Thank you for your time.

I'll chime in as well concerning the 9900's problems with margins AND the head-scratching issue of images not being centered (not in one dimension mind you but all four!). One of Epson's tech support even suggested I try saving my print job as a PDF and printing (haven't tried that yet).

Has anyone found that Qimage or ImagePrint solve margin and centering issues? I need to do double-sided printing on this machine and at the moment it's looking impossible to get alignment on both sides.

One thing to keep in mind - (I know this comment comes late to the party) but ImagePrint V9.02.2 doesn't seem to acknowledge the 3mm bottom margin, which this article discusses. IP still imposes the 14mm bottom margin of the 4880, and to center margins, you lose another 14mm off the top as well. Yes everything is happily centered for double sided printing, but you are losing 28mm, which on an A4 is a lot of real estate.
