At Ateneo de Naga Senior High School, the Weekly Learning Plan was designed in 2 sessions. During this teaching practice, I was responsible for developing the 2nd session, which focused on guiding students to understand and write a scholarship application letter based on their own strengths, experiences, and academic goals.
Topic
This session was conducted as part of the Reading and Writing subject under the Business Writing unit, with a specific focus on introducing students to the structure and purpose of a scholarship application letter. This guided students to see how this type of letter can support their future academic plans, especially when preparing for scholarship and university applications.
Learning Objectives
Identify the structure and purpose of a scholarship application letter.
Evaluate effective and ineffective elements in a sample letter.
Draft a scholarship application letter using appropriate skill and knowledge.
Learning Materials
To support the lesson, I prepared sample letters, slides for discussion, and a short worksheet that helped students map their strengths before drafting.

I used Canva presentation slides and guided students to explore real scholarship and university resources online to support their writing activity.

Through this activity, students practiced expressing their ideas in written form while connecting their personal goals with real academic opportunities.
Learning Activities & Assessment
The session began with a short strengths-identification activity, continued with guided analysis of sample scholarship letters, and ended with a drafting task where students worked on their own application letters.
The lesson plan was developed through consultation and feedback sessions with the coordinating teacher before being implemented in the classroom.
