God knows the future
7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
Psalms 139:1-4
God knows the future
1 You have searched me, LORD,
and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue
you, LORD, know it completely.
Ephesians 1:11
God is in Control
11 In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will...
God is in control...God knows the future...Jesus teaches us when we pray, that our Father knows what we need, even before we pray and ask Him...The Psalmist tells us that our Father has searched and knows us...He knows us when we sit and when we rise, when we are going out, and when we are lying down...He is familiar with all our ways...He knows what is on our minds and on our tongues completely, even before we speak it...
God is not constrained by time...He lives outside of time, as we know it...He is in the past, present, and future...Only God who is outside time, can know us completely...This is because He knows what we will do next, and do in the future...We are a character in His story, and He is our Author...The theme of His story is His love for us...Some nonbelievers believe that there is no Father, and therefore no story...Nonbelievers live day by day and without God, their lives is random, and everything that happens in it, is controlled by randomness...Christians believe God sent His Son to save us from our sins...He is our purpose in life...Like the earthly authors we read about, they are in control of their characters and know what their characters are doing and will do in the next chapter and following chapters...God, our Author, knows each one of us by name...He knows what we are doing and what we will do in the next chapter in our lives...We are part of the Greatest Story Ever Told...It is because, God is the Greatest Writer of all...
