Eoin's parents first shop was in Dun Laoghaire, Costello Jewellers on Northumberland Avenue.
Eoin received an award for the second highest results in Ireland in London from the Chair of the National Association of Goldsmiths.
At its high point Costello Jewellers comprised three retail outlets and a small wholesale business.
As a result of a number of robberies in their shops Eoin successfully lobbied for the installation of CCTV camera's in Bray through the launch of a detailed report (entitled 'A Clockwork Orange or Holyhead') which he presented to the Minister for Justice.
Eoin presents Columba Falkner (head office, Saint Vincent dePaul) with the proceeds of the Scrap Gold Week
While running the Cornelscourt outlet he came up with the idea of starting Ireland’s first ever Scrap Gold Week in aid of St. Vincent de Paul. He was president of the national youth forum of SVdP at the time. He also established Student Of The Year Awards in 14 of the area's schools.
In 1999 he took the momentous decision to sell his physical business and go exclusively online.
