Welcome to the 2024 Trainee Symposium of the Eastern New York Student Chapter of ASM
The ENYSCASM Trainee Symposium provides microbiology trainees with an opportunity to present their work to a network of peers. The 2024 symposium is scheduled for all day Friday, March 29, 2024.
The symposium will highlight the fantastic work of microbiology trainees in Eastern New York and beyond. Undergraduate and graduate students as well as postdoctoral fellows are encouraged to submit abstracts below. A panel of faculty judges will award prizes to outstanding talk and poster presentations.

9 am (Room 2000A): Opening
9:10 - 10:30 am (Room 2000A): Selected Talks I: Bacterial and Viral Pathogens
10:30 am: Snack Break
10:40 am - Noon (Room 2000A): Selected Talks II: From Microbiomes to Bacterial Populations
Noon - 1pm (Room 2132): Lunch (Pizza and Salad Provided)
1-2:30 pm (Room 2132): Poster Session
2:30 - 3:45 (Room 2000A): Panel: Career Perspectives in Microbiology
3:45-4pm (Room 2000A): Closing & Awards
This free in-person event will be held at the ACPHS LSIB building (formerly Center for Medical Sciences).
