At the exposition of Eco-friendly food elaborated for students of English Levels, students and teachers have the opportunity to taste different Honduran typical food made by the students of the English Levels. In addition, they provide information about the recipe, and how this food contributes to an eco-friendly lifestyle.
DISHES
In this important academic event, students have prepared a variety of delicious dishes for demonstration. Each dish highlights their culinary skills and creativity, offering a unique taste experience that reflects their hard work and dedication. These are some of the dishes that were prepared to be demonstrated at this exposition.
At the exposition, there was a stand of the famous dish ''Tortillas with Cheese''. It was exposed by students from the English Level 1 class. They provided the ingredients of this dish, and explained how it is normally eaten by Honduran people. For the preparation of this dish, you need corn tortillas and cheese. If you want to level up this dish, you can prepare tomato sauce and fried beans to add on top of the Tortillas with Cheese. Also, this dish is normally accompanied by tamarind or passion fruit juice.
Anorher section of English Level 1 class setted up a stand about ''Catrachas'', which is a traditional food from Honduras. They were sharing with the audience about the history of this dish and the ingredients to cook it. One of the facts they gave was that this dish is very popular in our country because it is very accessible for everyone, and the ingredients can be found in all Honduran's houses; The ingredients for cooking Catrchas are beans, cheese, and tortillas. If you want to add more, it's up to you.
One of the sections of English level 2 presented a stand about the dish ''Tamalitos and coffee''. They shared the recipe of this iconic Honduran dish. The ingredients for cooking bean tamalitos are 2 pounds of corn flour, water, 6 crushed garlic cloves, salt, pepper, 1 pound of lard or vegetable shortening, refried beans and banana leaves. A fact they provide is the importance of using banana leaves because it helps to wrap the tamalitos to prevent them from falling apart while cooking.
Another section of English Level 2 class presented the dish ''Chicken Toast''. They explained that this dish is from Mexico, but they decided to present the Honduran version of it. In their stand, they expose information about the dish and its ingredients.
One more section of English Level 2 created a stand of two important and memorable dishes from Honduras, which are ''Yuca with Pork Ribs'' and ''Rice Pudding''.
For the dish Rice Pudding, they mentioned that this recipe has origins in Asia. However, it was adapted in Latin American, when the colonial period was occuring. After sharing some information about the dish, they shared the recipe. The ingredients that you need are cinnamon, rice, brown sugar and milk.
For the dish Yuca with Pork Ribs, they give a brief list of the ingredients you need to prepare it, these are yuca, pork ribs, salad, cheese and sauce.
In the exposition of eco-friendly dishes that happened in the morning, one section of English Level III presented a stand mainly focused on different dishes that are eco-friendly. These were Mexican Tacos, Pancakes of Banana and Oat, and Caesar Salad. They had small samples of these dishes for the audience. Equally important, they share what eco-friendly food consists of. They explained that this food helps to reduce the pollution in our country, because we used local products like corn, oats, vegetable, vegetable oil, etc.
OTHERS ACTIVITIES
The group from the level 4 English class provide a interesting activity in which you could try healthy food, but before you could try it, you had to play roulette, where there were different challenges in English.
The exposition counted with the participation of a spectacular group who kindly taught the benefits of avocado, and how they were inspired by different recipes with a variety of flavors and sauces. This activity was eco-friendly, avoiding the use of plastics and things harmful to the environment. Many of those who tried the tasting were delighted with the flavor.
The exposition was also attended by a stand that gave the opportunity to be able to enjoy the preparation of banana bread, and discover that this delicious dessert was a quick and easy recipe to make, absolutely perfect for students. This group also offered to the public a passion fruit juice and other different dishes. The decoration was very beautiful, and the work and the information that they provided was very interesting and detailed for the audience.
At the exposition, the audience had the opportunity to see a very creative way of not using plastics, giving meaning to the eco-friendly event.
