WRSA
Writing, Reading, and Speech Assistance (WRSA) located within the Learning Commons, offers coaching for students at all stages of the writing process. Students can receive help with any reading and writing assignments across various disciplines. They offer in person, email, and synchronous online sessions.
We recommend bringing your class into the Learning Commons to get a tour, learn about WRSA appointments, and to sign up for their accounts for easy scheduling.

Learning Commons
The Learning Commons offers free academic support in various areas from math and English (through WRSA) to ELL and navigating blackboard. Tutors there range from peer tutors to writing coaches.
If you have a student who needs help with writing/reading, direct them to WRSA (Writing, Reading, and Speech Assistance), but if you have a student who is struggling with being a student, executive functioning, and/or navigating the LMS, then we recommend using the Learning Commons.

Financial Aid
If your students have questions about completing their FAFSA, types of financial aid, understanding their FA offer, where/how to search for scholarships, etc., send them to the Office of Financial Aid, which is located in the Enrollment Center in SSC 2280.
Students are assigned Financial Aid advisors according to their last names. They can find their assigned advisors here: Contact Financial Aid.

Access & Accomodations
According to our website, “College of DuPage is committed to the equitable access of educational opportunities for eligible students with a disability, illness, injury, medical condition or mental health condition.”
Students can receive accommodations, but that process must be initiated by them. Please direct them to the Center for Access and Accommodations to begin the process to advocate for their needs. Library
The COD Library is an invaluable resource for both our students and ourselves as educators.
Between the main collection, interlibrary loan, and hundreds of databases, students can meet all of their research needs.

Intercultural Student Initiatives
The Intercultural Student Initiatives department is committed to inclusive excellence by building social understanding, expanding social awareness, fostering unity, and intentional belonging. The ISI sponsors monthly events, such as the Expressions Competition and the Hip Hop Summit, as well as expanded programming, like the Inclusive Excellence Peer Mentoring Program. The newly renovated “Hub” is a space for our students to hang out, study, and form connections and can be found in SSC 1138

Career Services
Current COD students can receive assistance with job and internship search, resumes and cover letters, interview techniques, and dcareer readiness skills via our Career Services Department (SSC 3373).
A career counselor can give your class an overview of what this department can do for students and show them programs, such as Career Coach (career research and exploration), Vmock (resume building), Big Interview (interviewing skills), and the Chaps Get Hired (job board).
Please complete the Faculty Partnership Request Form, and a Career Specialist will reach out to schedule a presentation.
Counseling & Advising
Per the Counseling & Advising website, this department's mission statement is… “to provide students with developmental support services that are transformational in nature and promote academic excellence. We provide support in reaching educational goals and career aspirations by providing all admitted students with free confidential services in academic advising, career counseling and personal counseling.”
Students can call (630) 942-2259 to make an appointment or find more information here. Counseling & Advising is locted in SSC 3341.
Transfer Services
If a student is asking you questions regarding transferring to another institution, send them to Transfer Services.
They can provide students with more information about transfer agreement programs, transfer scholarships, and the steps to successfully transfer to another college or university.
Transfer services call be reached at (630) 942-2259 and are located in SSC 2227.
Veterans Services
If you have student veterans, direct them to Veterans Services on campus, located in SSC 3379. Veterans Services assists veterans and military personnel with their studies at the college level. They can help student veterans to understand their military benefits, locate veteran scholarships, and refer them to additional local and college-wide resources.
The Student Veterans of America Association at COD meets regularly to provide community and additional support. Students can contact burfields@cod.edu for more information.
Information Technology
One of the most important contacts that students need is IT. If a student is unable to access or navigate their email, Bb, or MyAccess, please direct them to the IT department by having them contact the Student Help Desk. They can call (630) 942-2999, email studenthelp@dupage.edu, or stop by the Academic Computing Center in the Student Resource Center (SRC), Room 3000.
If you are having issues accessing any of the college’s software programs, call the Information Technology Services Faculty/Staff Help Desk at (630) 942-4357 or email them at helpdesk@cod.edu.
Part Time Faculty Offices
There are office spaces located in BIC 2A07 and HSC 1235. These are your office spaces. There are computers, copiers, phones, office supplies, etc. There are also lockers that you can use to leave supplies and hang your belongings. You may also eat lunch here, rent a space to conference with students or hold a zoom meeting, or simply connect with other instructors. Your college mailbox is also located in BIC 2A07.
Police Department
The Police Department is located in SRC, Room 2100. Dispatch operates 24 hours, 7 days a week. In an emergency situation, call the police on campus at extension 2000 or call 911. For more information on emergency situations visit: Emergency Response @ COD

CODAA
After teaching (at least 6 credit hours) for three consecutive years at COD, you are eligible to join CODAA (College of DuPage Adjunct Association). For answers to frequently asked questions, use this link: Membership FAQ - CODAA. To intiate the process, you will first join IEA. Becoming a member of the union comes with benefits, such as increase in pay, PD funds, and right of assignment. We encourage you to join after 3 years of service.
Learning Technologies
According to the Learning Technologies page, they aim “to empower you and improve your experience using educational technology.” Whether you are having difficulty navigating Blackboard or trying a new educational technology, we recommend connecting with Learning Technologies.
