Navigating College Softwares

Blackboard Ultra

Blackboard is the college's LMS (Learning Management System). All recently hired faculty are starting on the new and improved Blackboard Ultra platform while existing faculty are migrating over. Keep in mind that you may have students who are using both Blackboard Original and Blackboard Ultra. Learning Technologies has put together a wealth of Blackboard Ultra Resources to ease the transition or acclimation to Ultra. You can find additional PD focused on navigating Ultra by searching Cornerstone.

MyACCESS

Log into Inside COD and navigate to the MyACCESS tab (upper left). The menu is split into three main sections: Students, Employees, and Faculty.

In MyAccess for Students: students can change personal contact information, check schedule, student planning, view their transcripts and grades, order textbooks, check financial aid, make payments, and register for classes. If students are having issues with My Access, direct them to Student Support for MyAccess or the Student Help Desk
Under MyAccess for Employees, you can change your contact information, locate your Pay Stubs (Advices), view your PD funds and W2 statements, put in a leave request, and check benefits.
Under MyAccess for Faculty, you can see your class rosters, submit your availability, check your assignments, process student permits, search for credit courses, and view student profiles.

Cornerstone

In order to get to Cornerstone, go to insideCOD. At the center of the screen, you will see "Work Tools." Naviate to Cornerstone. This software is where you take your annual compliance training and register for various workshops and PD events. You can also see your full transcript and get to the internal job board.

Starfish

Various college departments use Starfish for communications and records, so you can get a comprehensive look at students' records on this platform. This Quick Guide to Starfish video shows you how to look up a student's record. You can also Look up a Student's Profile on MyAccess, but Starfish gives you a more holistic picture.

Follett Bookstore & Adoption

Follett Bookstore can be found in the SRC. For general inquires you can call (630) 942-2361 or email 0784mgr@follett.com.

James Miene (mienej@cod.edu) is your contact at the Division for issues related to book adoption. At the bookstore, Celeste Bryant (messages@mc.follettdiscover.com) will notify you if you have missing book adoptions.

Follett Discover, where you place book orders (adoptions) each semester, is a bit trickier to find on Blackboard Ultra. It is under Books & Tools.
