We can help you with your course schedule, choosing classes, finding student aid, studying skills, locating and using sources for an essay--you name it, we have someone who can help. What's my role?
As your course instructor, I am your first contact for help you need in this course. If something doesn't make sense, sounds confusing, or you'd just like more information, let me know by messaging me through Canvas. If you're having difficulty using Canvas, let me know. But if Canvas stops working for some reason or you're experiencing technical issues, please see Canvas Assistance below.
If you message/email me Monday-Friday before 4 p.m., I will most likely be able to respond to you that day. If it is after 4 p.m. or on a weekend or holiday, I may not be able to respond until the next work day.
Summer 2020 Office Hours:
I will be holding online office hours this summer. If you have a question and would like to chat using Pronto or Zoom, office hours are a great time to do so. I'll be available during the times below. Please message me and let me know how you'd like to meet, and I will send you instructions!

Tutoring Services on Campus
Get help from tutors in math, English, ESL, and other subjects. The Success Center is located on the lower level of the Learning Resource Center (LRC) in LC137.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Success Center has transitioned from face-to-face to online tutoring services, effective Monday, March 30 until further notice.
Summer 2020 Tutoring Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 10 am-6 pm and Friday, 10 am-2 pm.
Students can make appointments or attend drop-in online tutoring sessions with Success Center tutors through Zoom.
Online Tutoring
Cerritos College provides students with access to online tutoring services from Smarthinking. With Smarthinking, students can chat with a live tutor. You can also submit completed drafts of your writing assignments from any course to Smarthinking's Essay Center for a tutor to review. The tutor will provide you with detailed, personalized feedback about your paper, typically within 24 hours. To connect with a tutor, follow the instructions on the Online Tutoring Tab on Canvas.
Cerritos CARES
Cerritos Cares is a centralized place to connect students to campus resources. Here you will find COVID-19 updates and information about how to access services online. If you need financial assistance or access to technology in order to complete your schoolwork, you may request Emergency Aid.
Office 365
Students can sign up for Office 365 Education for free, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and now Microsoft Teams, plus additional classroom tools. Use your valid school email address to get started today.
Virtual Counseling
If you are unable to come to campus, you can still meet with a counselor through Virtual Counseling to discuss your educational goals and plan for your future.
Students Accessibility Services (SAS)
Students with limitations due to a disability may receive support services and instruction from Student Accessibility Services Those students with mobility, visual, hearing, speech, psychological and other health impairments as well as learning and developmental disabilities are served.
If you already receive accommodations through SAS, please let me know as soon as you can so that I can provide you with accommodations.
