For this event, each student wrote and recorded their pieces on the theme of Isolation. Students wanted to explore Isolation in its many forms and the different ways the feeling of isolation could be interpreted or illustrated. They felt this was an important topic to explore, especially in 2020 when so many are facing various levels of isolation, some for the first time, some at deeper levels than before.
In accordance with the theme, each piece is presented on its own separate page, with its own individual style. The students each recorded their pieces, reading alone in a variety of settings and postures. The ordering of the pages is deliberate, with more extreme forms of isolation to our left, working ever closer to struggles and triumphs we face in our daily lives. But you are welcome to explore the site however you like.
If you were able to join us for our live event on Wednesday, October 28th 2020, we appreciate your time and your support. And if you're visiting our site as a recorded event, alone, sometime off into the future, we are glad you were able to find us. We hope that you find solace and comfort as our voices echo across time and space, ideally making the experience of isolation feel a little less lonely.
