At the end of each week, you will self-assess your participation by completing a Declaration Quiz. This will be a "quiz" on Canvas with checkboxes for each of our learning activities for the week. There will also be some short answers where you can demonstrate how you have engaged with our reading and writing assignments. You will also have the opportunity to reflect on your thinking (metacognition).Â
We all participate in different ways, and I want to make sure that you all get credit for the ways that you choose to engage with the class. I trust you as students and as adults to be honest in your self-assessment. As an instructor, I will accept whatever score you give yourself, and that score will go directly into our Canvas grades under your "Participation" category.
If I notice a discrepancy (or differences) between your self-assessment on the Declaration Quizzes and my observations in class and of your work, we may need to have a conversation.
