Election anxiety is real. Being faced with uncertainty and powerlessness causes significant stress for many people. To help calm post-election worries and learn to navigate the next few days, months and years, faith leaders from the Twin Counties gathered Wednesday to pray for the community and nation on the outdoor pavilion outside Rocky Mount City Hall.....
We are thankful for pastors and a community who believes in the power of prayer. We gathered to pray for Unity, Equality, and Humanity in the twin counties.
We, as Americans, are now facing post-election results. Some are having anxieties, fearful of the future, challenged with how to navigate the next few days, months, and years to come. With so many uncertainties approaching our doorsteps, Pastors and churches from the Twin Counties gathered on November 4th to pray for our community and our nation. Clergy, regardless of denomination, will gather on the outdoor pavilion of City Hall to pray for unity, equality, and humanity for all. The purpose was not to lay aside our differences but ignore them so we may walk out Romans 14:19, "So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding." (ESV) The gathering was not focused on political viewpoints, but how we as a community and nation move forward for the betterment of all citizens, individuals, and families.
The Ecumenical Prayer Gathering was led by Nash and Edgecombe County Pastors at Noon on Rocky Mount City Hall's Outdoor Pavilion.
