The Uemachi Plateau in Osaka, where our foundation is located, is a place that has left a significant mark on Japan’s history and culture, and it is also home to the seeds of “knowledge and art” that will shape Osaka’s future.
Through arts and culture in this area, we seek to deepen connections among people, discover new value, and contribute to the progress and harmony of humankind.
Since 2017, beginning with the symposium Can We See Japan’s Future Through Temples and Shrines? held at Shitennoji Temple to commemorate the 1,400th memorial of Prince Shotoku, who has deep ties to this area, we have organized international symposia and “Art Salons” in this region.
We also support the creative and research activities of artists who have received grants from the Uemachi Plateau Contemporary Art Creation Support Fund, established within ASK Arts Support Kansai (The Kansai-Osaka 21st Century Association), an initiative proposed by the Kansai Association of Corporate Executives.
