Approach people from ethnic minority communities about taking part in research
Cultural Competency Training
We have developed an online Introduction to Cultural Sensitivity in Research module which can be accessed via NIHR Learn. The module takes about 40 minutes to complete and learners receive a certificate upon completion. The module explains why inclusive research matters and how cultural understanding, values and beliefs can impact on research participation.
Cultural Competency Workshop
Working with public contributors and the Race Equality Network, Bradford, we have co-produced a Cultural Competency Workshop suitable for members of the research community at all levels. This interactive workshop, facilitated by our public contributors, is designed for participants to develop an understanding of cultural competence and to reflect on their own levels of cultural competence.
