I wrote my first zine at the age of 14 with a group of pals huddled around a overheating copier in my mom's office and haven't stopped since. My most well known zine is a series called Radical Domesticity which earned me the title "domestic advice guru of the zine counterculture" by the zine distro, Antiquated Future. My zines are currently in the permanent collections at the Radcliffe Institute's Schlesinger Library and Barnard College Zine Library, and has been sent to readers as far away as Japan and Australia.
I created Pretty Dirty Press in 2011 as a place to sell the zines and other items I was making. While it is still the best place to purchase my work - if you want to see more behind the zines and learn about any upcoming workshops I am hosting check out and follow my Instagram @PrettyDirtyPress
I started teaching zine making workshops in 2014 and it is one of the best things I ever started doing. I love passing on tips and tricks to help new zinesters (people who make zines) avoid some of the mistakes I have made over the years. But the best part of workshops is getting to watch people create their first zine and see their smiles when we share them at the end of the session. I have taught elementary school groups to college professors, three part in depth series to 30 minute quick sessions, done both virtual and in person workshops. Contact me to talk about setting up a workshop for your organization, business, or group! You can send me a message via my Etsy shop or DM me on Instagram @PrettyDirtyPress .
