Facilitator & Activist

I've been working in radical non-hierarchical spaces since 2008. In these spaces I have looked to to find a ways to work better, smarter, and kinder.

I am a believer in transformative justice, abolition, and radical kindness. I am actively anti-racist, uncomfortably feminist, deeply committed to my values and bring them into every space and all the work that I do.

How Can I Help You

Introduce you and/or your organization to consensus decision making and how to facilitate better meetings

Give presentations and hold conversations on bringing radical and collective organizing principles into the work place - including Critical Reflective Practice

Provide meeting facilitation and mediating difficult conversations

Consulting on how to make your radical, non-hierarchical workspace work better

Prison Library Support Network (2016 - Present)

Staff Taking Action, Creating Safer Spaces (2020 - 2022)

- Instigator in the creation of this grassroots group within the New York Public Library
- Main meeting facilitator
  - Lead group in creation of mission statement, action plan, group identity, safer spaces policies, and internal press releases
  - Guided group through presentation and meeting preparation
  - Maintained group's documentation such as proposals, meeting notes, and other original works
  - Acted as liaison between group and administration
  - Kept staff engaged in the work despite hurdles and friction with administration
  - Supported the transition to more group leadership when I left the institution
- Restorative Justice (RJ) working group lead
  - Facilitated all meetings and maintained records
  - Contacted representatives who use restorative justice in their libraries to speak with the group
  - Contacted restorative justice organizations and practitioners in NYC to speak about their work and collaborate with us
  - Created proposal for bringing restorative justice practices to the New York Public Library (currently in effect)
