My decision to pursue librarianship is grounded in principles of social justice and comes from a desire to serve communities by offering guidance, support, and quality resources and information. I believe that libraries are a place of liberation.

Highlights:
During the pandemic I worked with a group of other Bronx YA Librarians to create two well attended program series, 'New Year, New You' and 'Your Best Summer', aimed at supporting teens' emotional needs and giving them tools for their transitions into adulthood
Designed a localized monthly bilingual newsletter to send to educators, community organizations, and patrons to keep them informed on upcoming programs, books recommendations, and library and community updates. This simple resource, designed to be read online and printed out to be distributed, allowed us to reach our community without overwhelming them during a time of uncertainty
Created a 'Video Best Practices' document that is now used by all NYPL staff
Supported fact checking of NYPL's 2021 Connections Guide for Formerly Incarcerated Patrons
Participated in creating activities, filming instructional videos and book talks for Virtual Summer Camp and Virtual After School
Designed Social Media Campaigns used system wide on: the 2020 Census, Absentee Voting, and How to Put Books on Hold (using during our Phase 1 Grab-and-Go Services)
Wrote the "RRRevolution!Girl Style! Now!" blog post and collaborated on the "Are You Vote Ready?" blog post aimed at getting teens informed about voting and how to get involved in the election if they weren't of voting age
Hosted zine making program for Virtual Bronx Anti-Prom 2020 that was attended by over 50 teens and library staff
