GLE Dictionary
Like any organisation, there are lots of words with special meanings in IIMHL and IIDL. This dictionary is to help people check what we mean. If you would like a word added, please submit a question.
Collaborative: A group of people around the world who come together regularly, usually between every 2 - 6 months and usually virtually. Collaboratives are self-directed and organised around key topics of interest. These groups share their day-to-day work, new ideas, challenges, and collaborative projects. Collaborative members usually host a Match on their topic when the Leadership Exchange is in their country.
Dialogue: GLE brings lots of different people together to share their experiences, expertise, and perspectives. We encourage a culture of dialogue in our spaces, rather than debate. The United States Institute for Peace has a useful resource exploring the difference between dialogue and debate. Download here.
