Mission, Vision, & Values

Mission: 

Emergence Academy will provide students with limited or interrupted formal education a strong foundational educational experience, accelerating learning through targeted reading, writing and math interventions, individualized support plans for all students, and celebrating and building on the inherent strengths that all students bring with them when they come through the door.

Vision:

We believe that all students who have access to a high-quality, well-structured, emotionally-safe, and supportive educational program can succeed when they are recognized for their individual and collective greatness, encouraged to hold themselves and others accountable to help build a learning community centered on acceptance, social emotional support, and academic growth, provided individualized, data-driven supports to reach their personal and collective goals, and reminded every day that they are a valued member of a school community. We believe that by focusing on celebrating and growing the individual and collective strengths of our students and rooting our program in anti-racism, equity, and liberation, we will be able to accelerate their English development as well as their emotional, social, and academic intelligence and to help put them on the pathway to high school graduation and fulfilling college and career pathways. In doing so, we also strive to illuminate the tools they can use to advocate for their individual well-being and the well-being of their communities.
