The Emerald High School Band Program serves as a home to nearly 100 students that participate in our bands, and color guard each year. The Emerald High School and Westview Middle School programs collectively offer two concert bands, a jazz band, the EHS Viking Vanguard Marching Band, concert percussion, and various chamber ensembles for community performances.

Brice is a talented and passionate senior in our band. He has held a few leadership roles in the past, but is a silent leader now.
Brice has been in concert band since sixth grade year (2019-2020), starting out on the Bb Clarinet. He doubles on Bass Clarinet, and sometimes even Eb Clarinet. He has been in Marching Band since 8th grade year (2021), which was the War Dance season. He has marched clarinet in all of his seasons.
His favorite marching season was the show Out West (2023). And right now he doesn't have a favorite concert band piece.
Flynn is a dedicated, determined, and passionate senior. He is the current EHS Band Librarian.
Flynn has been in Concert Band, consistently, since 8th grade (2021-2022) on Flute. He started on Flute, and now doubles on Flute/Piccolo. He started Jazz Band in 10th grade (2023-2024), on Alto Sax. He also started playing Piccolo that same school year. He started Marching Band in freshman year in the Black Swan (2022) season in color guard, and now marches Piccolo.
His favorite marching show was Out West (2023), and his favorite concert band piece is Blue and Green Music by Samuel Hazo (Spring 2024).
Kinzleigh is a talented and driven senior. She is the current EHS Marching Band Percussion Captain.
Kinzleigh has been in Concert Band since her sixth grade year (2019-2020), starting on Clarinet and moved into percussion later on. She occasionally will play Clarinet for Concert band. She has also been in marching band since her eighth grade year, War Dance (2021). She has been a percussionist through her years in marching band, and she currently plays the Tenors and the Synth.
Her favorite marching season was either War Dance (2021), or Out West (2023). And her favorite piece in concert band was The Great Locomotive Chase by Robert W. Smith (2022-2023)
Braedon is a very energetic and proud member of the band. He is in our Percussion section on the Drum Kit.
He has not been in band for very long, he has done a few semesters of concert band, and this is his second Marching season. He started in Concert band in spring of his tenth grade year (2024). He started in the Butterfly Effect (2024) season in front ensemble. When Braedon is not with the band, he is often with Chorus or Musical Theatre.
His favorite Marching season was Butterfly Effect (2024), because it was his first season. His favorite concert band piece we have played is Hypnotic Fireflies (2025) by Brian Balmages.
Bobby is a talented and determined senior. He is the current EHS Marching Band Captian.
He has been in concert band since his eighth grade year (2021-2022), starting on tuba. He also plays multiple other low brass instruments. He started marching band in the War Dance (2021) season on Sousaphone, and now marches Baritone. He is also involved in other extracurriculars, such as AFJROTC.
His favorite marching season was the Out West (2023) season. And his favorite concert band piece was When Angels Weep (2022-2023) by David Shaffer.
Nathan is the current EHS Bands Drum Major. He is a enthusiastic and committed senior.
Nathan has been in concert band since his sixth grade year (2019-2020), he started on Euphonium. He often doubles on a different instrument throughout the school year. He has been in marching band since his seventh grade year (2020), which was a year with no competitions, but there was a 'Queen' halftime show. He played the Marching Baritone in marching band, and now is the Drum Major.
His favorite marching season was last year's Butterfly Effect (2024) because he felt that show had a lot of potential and detail. And his favorite concert band piece was Children's March by Percy Granger (2023-2024).
Jailyn is a very smart and talented member of our marching band. She is the current Saxophone section leader.
She has been in concert band since her sixth grade year (2019-2020), starting on alto sax. She now mainly plays tenor sax, including in the Jazz Band. She started marching in the Out West (2023) season. She has only marched tenor saxophone. She is involved in many school activities, including the Academic Challenge Team.
Jailyn's favorite marching season was the Out West (2023) season. And she currently has no favorite concert band piece.
