May 2024 - August 2024
L3Harris is a defense contractor with multiple segments including Integrated Mission Systems, Communication Systems, Aerojet Rocketdyne, and the sector which I am interning in, Space and Airborne Systems. I work on the software team of a project called TEANT, which works on a Space Force Test and Evaluation Antenna System. On this project, I am learning about turning software into a product. I am developing software that is being deployed on the hardware for a satellite control ground station.

Torc Robotics aims to make the future of trucking safer by making self-driving semi-trucks. In Summer 2023, I was on the Developer Tools and Automation team, which focuses on maintaining the build infrastructure and developing environments of the company. On this team, I created a script that cleans up docker containers, and I also wrote unit tests for the script. Through this position, I learned a lot about what runs in the background and how. I have learned all about CI/CD, Jenkins, AWS, Terraform, Github, and more.
Throughout the school year, I have been working with the Autonomous Technicians. This team works on diagnosing problems that appear in the hardware that the truck runs on. This includes many different types of sensors, CAN communication lines, complex computing systems in the trucks, and more. Through this position, I have vastly increased my knowledge of hardware systems, especially sensor systems and how to diagnose issues that may arise with them.
*Note: In this picture, I am driving a truck in simulation, not a real truck!
April 2023 - May 2024
The MARHES Lab at the University of New Mexico researches many types of robotics, from multi-agent robots to drones. I focused on a project involving a hexarotor with six fully actuated motors. I also worked on an omnicopter, which had eight motors and was omnidirectional. The lab partners with Sandia National Laboratories and Air Force Research Labs for many of its projects. Some of the lab's other projects include a drone used to measure CO2 levels to determine volcanic activity, a manipulator arm for fixing satellites in space, and more. Much of this work was in Python or C++.
May 2022- May 2023
Los Alamos National Lab is more famously known as the laboratory that Oppenheimer worked in. Unlike Oppenheimer, however, I interned for the Building Automation Systems team. Our team focused on maintaining and improving buildings' internal systems. I worked on a Python machine-learning project that predicted when building systems might fail. This was my first real introduction to AI, and I learned a lot about libraries like Pandas, and how AI really works.

Teeniors is a small business that employs tech-savvy teens - or Teeniors - to teach and empower older adults to use technology. Although I have taught many people many things while working here, I feel as though I learned more from them. From this position, I've learned how to communicate, be patient, and even different technological skills that I've never thought about before. Teeniors aims to bridge the generational divide and bring the wonder of technology to wider audiences.
