Run for Education
5k Walk/Run for Education
Each Fall the Elwood Education Endowment holds their 5K Walk/Run for Education. Over 300 runners turn out for this community-wide event. All proceeds go towards funding the Grant Program.
The 5k Race is sanctioned & certified by the USA Track & Field (certification code NY-10067-JG). The course is moderately challenging with several rolling hills meandering through Greenlawn, starting and ending at the Elwood Middle School. The race has computerized chip timing and scoring provided by Just Finish, Inc.

Fun Run
The 1 mile Fun Run is for all ages and takes place at the Elwood Middle School track. The goal is to run 4 laps around which is 1 mile... but really, the goal is to have FUN and do as many laps as you can! It's all to support a great cause - the students of Elwood. All Fun Run participants get a T shirt and prize just for participating, and those who complete the 4 laps/mile get a medal.
