CUB SCOUTS 101

The following is a brief introduction to the Cub Scout program. For a more comprehensive overview of the program we encourage you to visit the official Cub Scout website.

First and foremost, scouting is a FAMILY activity, so it begins with you! The program operates through volunteer leadership, so parent or guardian participation is key to a thriving program. Of course we all have busy lives but even the smallest amount of help can make a big difference. There are a number of ways to get involved – from helping to plan a day hike or activity, to taking on a leadership position within the Pack.

The Cub Scout program is all about encouraging boys and girls to make friends, be helpful to others, and do their very best no matter the outcome. With the help of powerful learning projects and exciting outdoor activities, we aim to teach children that doing their best can be a fun and rewarding experience – no matter the difficulty of the challenge.

CUB SCOUT ADVENTURES

Cub Scouts earn fun "Adventures" that are specific to their grade. Completion of adventures is how the aims of character, citizenship, leadership, and personal fitness are developed. Each Den will meet 1-3 times a month to work on different age appropriate “Adventures” throughout the year.  When they complete all of the adventures they will earn the rank badge for that year and advance to the next rank of the program.
