Purpose of this reflective tool
This Educator Interaction Tool has been developed by Early Learning Quality Initiative (ELQI) as a tool for educators to bring relationships to the forefront of our work. Educators will be able to use this reflective tool to support the Program Support Tool process. This Educator Interaction Tool, and the full Program Support Tool process, have been established as a strength-based process to support your daily work while aligning with the provincial How Does Learning Happen? pedagogy.
When you go through this Educator Interaction Tool, it will allow you to reflect on your own practice, observations in your room/program. You can use your own reflections from this tool, along with your thoughts and observations from your room/program, to discuss the key indicators in the Program Support Tool as you complete it with others you work with.
Educators can use this tool to support creating goals to impact their practice; these goals could also be used for other purposes if they are relevant.
As you are completing this reflective tool, you will read each statement and think about how often you would see fit. There is no right or wrong answer to any of these statements. It is an opportunity for you to reflect on your practice and see where you would like to focus as you create 1 to 3 goals specific to you.
While the Educator Interaction Tool has been developed as a self-reflection tool, if you wish to share your reflections with others, you are more than welcome to. Any goals or focus areas shared with the Early Learning Resource Program (ELRP) will be used to support the planning of future professional learning opportunities within your centre and the community with ELQI.
