From a very young age ive, loved fashion. I grew up with a nana who sewed constantly. When I was little I enjoyed dressing up in my mom's clothes and shoes, as most kids do. I took a few sewing classes in middle school where I sewed a pillow and learned some basic skills. High school is where I grew my Knowledge of sewing, history of fashion, and design. I learned how to design better and sew my designs to life. 

Growing up with parents who are in the creative world/industry has influenced my love for fashion and allowed me to show my creative side. My mom is a marketing manager but paints pictures in her free time, and my dad is an entrepreneur and owns a business with his brother where they paint murals and design logos and websites. 

Fashion and the manufacturing of clothing have always interested me as well as the design. When I was younger I would sketch clothing lines based on seasons, holidays, and feelings. One that stood out to me was “Elles Holiday Line”. It was very detailed and I could picture the items with what colors and designs I wanted on them. 

My fashion classes throughout the year have always kept my attention. I loved learning about the history and the evolution of trends and seeing trends come back. I love sewing and designing, but I am very intrigued by the business side of fashion. I am finishing up my last year as a bluebird embroidery member you could say. In my junior year, I got to be a part of this student-run fashion business, but it wasn’t as popular or successful as it is this year. 

My senior year we redesigned and prioritized the business. I work on sketches and ideas for lines all the time and it is such a great way to get experience. I run orders and package them as well as work on the social media aspect which has a huge influence on buyers nowadays. Ive worked at Pompilos, an Italian restaurant, for about 2 and a half years now. 

I am a hostess,busser, and barback. I have enjoyed being able to dress up when I can at work. Being a busser I have to wear a uniform, but when I host or barback I get free rein with some obvious boundaries. I love to dress more formally and nicely than I normally would.

I'm excited to continue my education in fashion, strengthen my skills, and make a career out of it.
