I'm a PhD Candidate in Economics and Finance at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands in a project titled the Evolution of Corporate Finance under the supervision of Melissa Vergara Fernandez, Sebastian Pfeil, and Abe de Jong. Aside from my PhD, I'm a board member of The Women in Economics Initiative and coordinator for the Netherlands Local Hub of the Young Scholar's Initiatives (YSI) under the Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET).
My primary areas of research include macroeconomics broadly, the link between our financial system and macroeconomics, economic methodology, decision and behavioral economics, and the history of economic thought-- all with the occasional focus on models, gender, and central banking. Research topics and initiatives I've been engaged with include the place of Synthetic Control Models in the History of Economic Thought, understanding the space of Philosophy of Economics for students from economics, and I'm venturing into the topic of radical and fundamental uncertainty in our financial thinking.
I hold a research masters in economics and philosophy from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a bachelors in finance and economics from Washington University in St. Louis. I also spent time working as a consultant with Ortec Finance-- a fintech company who models fundamental uncertainty through scenario modeling-- on pension and climate risk in the financial system.
