Mr. Nelsen has been leading the Elkhorn South band program since 2021 and has been teaching in the district since 2018. He graduated from the University of Nebraska Omaha with a Bachelor of Music. He was honored by the Nebraska Music Education Association with the Novice Music Educator of the Year in 2020 as well as the Jack R. Snyder Young Band Director Award in 2022. His passion for music and dedication to student success continues to inspire excellence in the program.
Mr. Jake Senff - Assistant Director
Mr. Senff has been with the Elkhorn South band program since 2022, bringing energy and expertise to his role as Assistant Director. A graduate of the University of Nebraska Omaha with a Bachelor's degree in Music Teacher Education. He was recognized by the Nebraska Music Education Association in 2023 receiving the Novice Music Educator of the Year award. Before joining Elkhorn South, he served as the Band Director at Waverly Middle School. Mr. Senff is committed to fostering a love of music and helping students achieve their full potential.
