Elkamhawy Lab
Principal Investigator
Prof. Ahmed Elkamhawy earned his B.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Mansoura University, Egypt, where he developed a strong foundation in organic and medicinal chemistry. For his Ph.D. training, he joined the University of Science and Technology (UST) in South Korea and conducted research at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST). His doctoral work focused on the design and synthesis of heterocyclic compounds targeting Alzheimer’s disease and cancer, integrating computational modeling and biological evaluation. Following his Ph.D., Prof. Ahmed held a series of academic and research appointments, including Assistant Professor positions at Mansoura University, Egypt, and Dongguk University, South Korea. His research explores rational drug design with a focus on kinase inhibitors, anti-cancer agents, and anti-inflammatory therapeutics. He has authored over 65 high-impact publications and holds patents on innovative drug candidates. He Maintains a Google Scholar H-index of 26 with more than 1700 citations. As a principal investigator, he supervises(ed) 2 M.Sc. Theses and 3 B.Sc. research projects.
Prof. Elkamhawy is committed to delivering high-quality education that integrates fundamental principles with advanced applications, ensuring that students gain both a solid foundation and exposure to cutting-edge developments in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and biochemistry.
