Stalin Surveys, 1936-1938
Received ISPS grant to pursue digitization of roughly 13,000 individual-level surveys collected by the Central Statistical Committee of the Soviet Union. Data spans several cities in Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine, and surveys working youth about educational and occupational background, ownership of cultural items, readership of books and viewership of movies.Â
Soviet Party Censuses, 1922, 1926
Working with FamilySearch and the Hoover Institution to digitize roughly 700,000 individual-level census entries from the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Data includes information on education, occupation, military service, party service, and political activity.
Soviet Patents, 1924-1991
Undertaking large digitization and trascription project of roughly 2,000,000 Soviet patents to study patterns of scientific innovation under suppression.
