Anna's very existence was a controversy. Not only was she born to a human and a Hecathian, she was a child of the royal Verairacur family, and possessed more potential for power than any child had been before. It was a mystery why she was born with such abilities, however, there wasn't much effort to discover the cause as it was quickly decided that her potential for danger was too great of a risk. Despite her being a young child, her grandparents and uncle in leadership decided that prevention was necessary. Despite her parents' efforts, the decision was made that the threat would be "quelled" before the girl would turn three years old.
It appeared fate would intervene, as three months after the decision had been made, a devastating attack swept across the entire continent. Anna narrowly escaped with her father, fleeing to her mother's homeworld, Earth. They ended up settling in Southern England in the United Kingdom, where Anna would grow up unaware of how they had come to live there. She was a quiet child who had few friends, and her isolation would grow heavier when at eleven years old, the saga of seemingly unending moves would begin.
Rather suddenly, Anna's life had gone from being relatively stable, though sheltered, to uprooting every couple of months and starting all over again. Over four years, she and her father lived in over a dozen cities in nine different countries. While she was happy to be with her father, she grew lonely, and all but gave up on socialization outside of her own house. The only reprieve came when a street cat was added to their family in their sixth move, and Anna gained companionship through Isabelle, whose name was quickly shortened to Isa.
The different cities and houses began to blur in Anna's mind, and she grew to feel more like she was playing a role rather than living her life. She had grown rather used to her own company, trying to find satisfaction in the life she was given, but she struggled to do so. It was then that her father received word through one of his work contacts that his brother who had been one of the few to support her parents against the rest of their family was indeed alive and living in the state of Minnesota in the United States.
Moving there felt no different than any other home they had barely tried to establish. While her father was assuring her that they would stay at least for a while longer than usual, Anna found it difficult to believe. As it turned out, this move would be the most transformative and enlightening of her life, as the truth of her existence and their past would come to light.
