Elizabeth Field

Welcome!

I will be starting a position as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Engineering & Mathematics at the University of Washington Bothell.

I was formerly an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Utah.

My research interests lie in the fields of geometric group theory and low-dimensional topology. In particular, I am interested in hyperbolic groups and spaces, boundaries of groups and spaces, automorphisms of free groups, mapping class groups, and surfaces and 3-manifolds.

I received my PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May of 2020 under the direction of Ilya Kapovich (now at CUNY).

Here is a reasonably up-to-date version of my CV.
