Final table poker is where tournament strategy changes the most.
This is the point where payout jumps, stack leverage, survival value, and risk premium all start to matter more than standard chip EV instincts. Many players make deep tournament runs, then lose a major part of their edge because they continue playing as if nothing changed.
At a final table, a big stack can often pressure medium stacks far more aggressively. A medium stack may appear comfortable, but can actually be trapped between short stacks and covering stacks. A short stack may need to act before fold equity disappears. Even postflop poker changes because elimination cost affects every serious decision.
That is why final table poker is not just about playing strong hands. It is about understanding the structure of pressure.
