About the series
The project visually represents how an emotion fades and gives way to indifference toward someone or something that once elicited profound feelings. This detachment is shown by stripping a jigsaw puzzle of Vincent van Gogh’s Roses (1890) of its warmth, pairing its isolated blocks and individual pieces with synthetic, domestic, and bureaucratic elements associated with containment, freezing, and filing.
