This group assignment was to create 15 analyses that explain the significance of literary devices such as diction, imagery, meter, rhymes, alliteration, allusion, parody, paradoxes, irony, or shifts in mood or tone.
I really enjoyed working on this project. I appreciate my teacher for encouraging our class to include artwork by William Blake; This helped me realize that art and literature are actually very similar, because both have a story or message to tell the audience. The difference is that literature uses diction, connotation, and descriptions to help the audience visualize the story. Meanwhile, art uses color, texture, and space to help the audience interpret what they are looking at. Additionally, incorporating Blake's art also helped us understand who he was and the complexity of his work, which was interesting to learn about.
