Beyond There -
In the centre of the co-operative there is a building.
A fortress of concrete, rooted in the sand dunes.
It is the heart of a community at the far end of the land.
And beyond, there is another land. With concrete structures in the ground like roots. and a sea with a yellow sand beach and palm trees.
And in between them there is a long line made of burnt earth charcoal.
Beyond There, A large-scale line drawing, using red charcoal directly on the gallery wall, the work spans approximately three metres and depicts a brutalist building—the Kerem Shalom community hub Architect: Meir Goodovitch—framed by two bare trees. 2025
The medium itself—charcoal—acts as a quiet remainder for destruction, offering a connection to the trauma and grief embedded in the subject matter. The work is based on two photographs taken by Bruria Hadass, a resident.
Screen
The old oak was planted there to stop us from seeing.
Its branches grow so heavy they were forced and forced back to the ground to rest on her.
It was a majestic view, it was a fairylike screen.
I stared at it for hours at the old plantation.
It looked so peaceful while it was erasing the roots of the sugar industry that planted it not so long ago.
