"Words” he said “is oh such a twitch-ticking problem to me all my life…I know exactly what words

I am wanting to say, but somehow or other they is always getting squiff-squiddled around...”

Roald Dahl, The BFG, Puffin, 2007, p.44
In this work made for the White Chapel library viewers where invited to immerse themselves in his installationinspired by Roald Dahl’s story The BFG. In their initial arrangement, free-standing letters form ten words derived from the acclaimed children’s book; as the exhibition progressed, the letters were re-arranged by visitors, allowing the opportunity to play with meanings suggested by the work.
The letters stand on a mirrored surface that created multiple reflections below the viewers’ feet, implying the existence of another place – an upside down, unstable world, alluding to the triumph of the imagination in Dahl’s story.
