Isolation -

Isolation is a screen print triptych that gives disinfectant bottles a main stage. Made out of in reds, blues, and oranges against dark backgrounds, Cif, bleach, and Dettol become unlikely subjects—because nothing says lockdown aesthetics quite like household cleaning products. Each bottle stands alone in its frame, as isolated as people were. Elevated from supermarket anonymity to gallery status. It’s a commentary on lockdown life: no one could socialise, travel, or do much of anything, but every surface gleamed. The triptych format mimics religious altarpieces, which feels entirely appropriate given how every one worshipped these bottles - a liquid salvation against an invisible threat. No better way to remember 2020 than by celebrating the mundane objects that defined it, after spending months developing an intimate relationship with spray bottles and cry into antibacterial hand gel.
