Welcome to your science class website! This will be your go-to hub for classroom information, learning resources, homework assignments, and downloadable materials for your interactive notebook.
Parents and guardians, we encourage you to check the website regularly to stay up to date with what we’re exploring in science and how your child is progressing. That said, this year is an important transition for our students. It’s time to begin letting go of their hand—just a little. One of our goals is to help students take greater ownership of their learning, responsibility, and communication.
It’s absolutely okay to ask questions and stay involved—but whenever possible, we encourage you to let your child be the main voice in reaching out, seeking help, or staying organized. This shift is intentional and important, as we’re working together to prepare them for the independence and accountability they’ll need in high school.
This year, we’re taking science on the road—literally! Our classroom theme is The Amazing Race: Science Edition. Students will “travel” through the exciting worlds of Physical Science, Earth Science, and Life Science, using teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking to complete challenges and reach checkpoints. Along the way, we’ll also explore the Engineering Design Process and the world of drones—just like the real Amazing Race, but with a science twist!
We understand that science can feel challenging at times. But with effort, curiosity, and a positive attitude, this class will not only be educational—it will be fun and rewarding. Science is all about asking questions, testing ideas, making observations, and uncovering truths about the world around us.
If at any point you feel confused or find yourself struggling, please reach out. Our job is to teach you, support you, and help you succeed—not just this year, but in preparing for the future. Don’t wait—come talk to us or email anytime for help!
Let the race begin, and let’s make this year the most exciting science adventure yet!
