AgReach is a smallholder farming initiative that closes gaps in agrisystems so that family farms with fewer than five acres can thrive. As a global food insecurity intern, Elena reported on data completed by AgReach and ADM Institute for the Prevention of Postharvest Loss researchers. Elena's articles have been posted to AgriLinks.com, an online hub where agriculture, food security and development professionals connect, share and learn.

The University of Illinois Foundation is the official fundraising and private gift-receiving agency for the University of Illinois. As the sole media intern for the marketing and communications team, Elena has created promotional videos for annual meetings, Foundation Weekend, philanthropy events, webinars, social media posts, internal training opportunities, and iLearn educational platforms.

Agricultural leadership, education and communications Intern
ALEC TV is a student-made broadcast for the Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communications program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Elena created ALEC TV in August of 2023. Under the direction of her advisor, Dr. Owen Roberts, she created unique and informative content designed to attract students to the major. Elena produced and anchored each of the bi-weekly, five minute episodes, presenting news and highlights in the ALEC program.

Good Morning Illini Anchor
Elena served as host-in-chief for Good Morning Illini, the University of Illinois campus news and talk show. It airs on Friday mornings at 11:00 a.m. on Channel 7, the Roku channel "UI7Newsroom" and GMI's Vimeo channel. Elena became an anchor for GMI her freshman year of college and continued through her senior year. Anchoring GMI allowed her to meet a multitude of interesting students, faculty and visitors on campus.

The Morrow magazine is an agricultural publication by students, for students. As Digital and Social Media Manager, Elena partnered with a team of graphic designers, writers and photographers to create the Spring 2024 issue of The Morrow. She created several social media posts welcoming new members to the magazine's and teasing the stories inside. She also wrote articles for the magazine about her study abroad experience and her show ALEC TV.

Elena became proficient in operating all the equipment in the Richmond Journalism Studio's control room. She directed shows including Good Morning Illini, Illini Sports Night, UI-7 Live, UI-7 En Vivo Contigo and A&M in the A.M.. Elena also managed the rental of the studio's HXR NX 200 Sony cameras and tripods to other student journalists at the University of Illinois.
