Chrome Extensions
Extensions are mini programs installed in the Google Chrome browser to give you added features and abilities. Extensions can easily be accessed using a button next to the address bar, which enhances the current website being viewed.
Chrome Apps
Apps are enhanced shortcuts to web applications that are ran inside the Google Chrome browser. In other words, Google Chrome Apps are like desktop software programs installed on computers, except that they are used directly in your web browser.
Google Add-ons
Add-ons are extra features in Google Docs and Google Sheets built by third-party developers using Google Apps Script. Similar to extensions for Chrome, add-ons extend the functionality of Google Docs and Google Sheets. For example, students can use The Bibliography Creator by EasyBib to easily create a bibliography for their research paper in Google Docs. Teachers utilize Flubaroo with Google Sheets to automatically grade quizzes and tests through forms.

Google Apps for Education (GAFE) has transformed my teaching. Default communication and collaboration apps include Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs and Sites. A GAFE account unlocks access to dozens of other educational tools supported by Google. All of these applications exist completely online (or in the cloud), meaning that all creations can be accessed from any device with an Internet connection.
