Logo Design Contest

In order to engage with students and to get a mindshare for creating awareness with regards to electoral process within young voters, the Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) at the Department of Political Science under the aegis of the Chief Elector Officer is organizing a ‘Logo Design Contest’. The logo should capture the essence of the ELC and must reflect its aspirations.

Terms and Conditions:

By participating in the Competition, participants agree to be bound by, and are deemed to have read and understood these terms and conditions:

1. The competition is open to all students of the St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi.

2. The participant should send the logo in JPG, or PNG format only, along with the open file format, with a minimum size of 4” x 4” (inches) at sxcpolsc@gmail.com before or on September 21, 2017.

3. A minimal look and feel in terms of colors and fonts is preferred, along with possible adherence to the motto of the ELC.

4. Photographs in the Logo are not acceptable.

5. A tagline of not more than eight words can be created in either Hindi or English to go along with the logo.

6. The logo should be such that it can be converted into a monogram without losing the effectiveness of the communication.

7. The design of the proposed logo should be original and should not violate the provisions of the Indian Copyrights Act, 1957.

8. The participant must be the same person who has designed the logo and plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited.

9. The design of the logo must not contain any provocative, objectionable and inappropriate content.

10. Anyone found infringing on others’ copyright would be disqualified from the Competition.

11. All entries should be accompanied by the name, photo, phone number and a short-profile of the participant.

12. The winning design of the logo will be the intellectual property of the Department of Political Science and the winner cannot exercise any right over it after acceptance of the prize.

13. The prize-winning design of the logo is meant to be used by the Department for promotional or display purposes and also for any other use as may be deemed appropriate for the initiative.

14. The Department reserves the right to cancel or amend any part of the competition. However, any changes to the terms and conditions shall be updated on the contest page of the Department website.

15. The Department reserves the right to reject any entry based on its discretion.

16. The Department will not be held responsible if the participants are not able to send their entries on or before the last date & time of submission for any reason whatsoever.

17. Multiple submissions by the same participant will not be considered.

Evaluation Criteria:

1. The entries would be evaluated on the basis of elements of creativity, originality, composition and simplicity.

2. The decision of the Selection Committee would be final and binding on all the participants and no clarifications would be issued to any participants for any of their decisions.

3. Out of all the entries received, the jury shall select three top entries. Out of the top three entries, the best would be selected by means of a poll.

4. The final winner would get a cash prize of Rs. ---------(details about prize will be announced shortly) along with a certificate of merit.
