let's be friends on goodreads!
Sing Me Forgotten by Jessica Olson
A gender-swapped The Phantom of the Opera retelling!!
This book is best to go in knowing nothing because then you really get the FULL EXPERIENCE. Also, if you're a fan of The Phantom of the Opera, you'll obviously have a good time finding all the easter eggs.
I loved this book so much. This put me through so many crying sessions it's not even funny. One particular character's backstory had me crying so much I could barely read the page. Therefore, this book is one of the few in my Made Me Cry Hall of Fame. Happy reading!
The Archived by Victoria Schwab
There is a library called The Archive where the memories of the dead are stored in Histories (copies of the person). Between The Archive and the real world are the Narrows. Sometimes these Histories get out of their shelves and into the Narrows and when this happens, it is Mackenzie's job as one of the Keepers of The Archive to bring the Histories back to The Archive before they get out into the real world. Obviously, it's not an easy job when they're able to fight back.
Everyone should read this book. If you haven't read this book, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! This was the first book I read by Victoria Schwab and I was blown away. Thus began my decent of becoming a super fan of her work. The CHARACTERS and the eerie story are just so so good. The friendship between Wesley and Mac is the cutest!! I need everyone to read this book already!!!
Lost in the Never Woods by Aiden Thomas
Five years ago, Wendy and her brothers went missing in the woods next to their house. Wendy was the only one to return but with no memories of what happened. Suddenly, Peter Pan is in Oregon and children are going missing in the same woods Wendy was found.
I love this book with all my heart. This was written by the same author as Cemetery Boys so already, I expected great things and WOW did it not disappoint! I really felt for Wendy and her struggle to find out what happened to her brothers. The ending was so heartbreaking but so good at the same time. I know a lot of people have said that they thought this book was slow but I honestly thought that the pacing was super fast. At no point was I bored or uninterested. I really think everyone should give this book a try because I thought the story was just so beautiful.
