The first five lesson plans presented below were created based on the SIOP (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol) model (Echevarria, Vogt & Short, 2000). They are focused on the four skills (listening, reading, speaking, and writing), a cycle of review and assessment, as well as vocabulary development. These lesson plans and resources are intended to help English learners achieve content and language objectives based on the Common Core and the WIDA standards. Also, these lesson plans are useful to assist ELs use English language (by speaking and writing) successfully in the academic context.
