Dr. Md Ekram Hossain is a highly accomplished professional with a diverse range of experiences in academia, research, and consulting. With expertise in environmental economics, sustainable development and management, climate change and circular economy. Dr. Hossain has made significant contributions to various organizations and institutions across multiple countries.
Currently serving as a Consultant at the Department of Environment (DOE) and the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Dr. Hossain has been involved in a leading research project, providing expert guidance, and contributing to policy development. This experience has allowed him to develop a deep understanding of the intersection between environmental issues, policy frameworks, and sustainable business practices.
Prior to his consulting role, Dr. Hossain held the position of Postdoctoral Fellow and Research Faculty (Assistant Professor) at Hohai University, China, from 2017 to 2021. During his tenure, he demonstrated exceptional teaching abilities, delivering courses on topics related to business, economics and management. In this role, he actively contributed to the research agenda of the Business School, publishing scholarly articles and conducting research on industrial economics, sustainable development, climate change and environmental issues, etc. Dr. Hossain's dedication to student learning and engagement resulted in a highly stimulating and supportive academic environment. As the Coordinator (International) at Hohai University's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, he excelled in fostering global partnerships and driving strategic initiatives. His role as the Co-Founder and Chief of Strategy and Innovation at ResearchX showcased his visionary approach to organizational growth and impactful project management. Furthermore, as the Coordinator of the Hohai Research Forum, he demonstrated strong coordination and event management skills while collaborating with diverse stakeholders to promote academic excellence. At that time his research article was published in the International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD) Moreover, in November 2015 Dr. Ekram also attended a week-long training program in the United Nations Headquarters arranged by the WFUNA (World Federation of Model United Nations).
