Fun

Animals

Rosie, a calico cat, squints into the sun that she is laying happily in. She lays next to Violet, a black and gray tabby cat, sits next to her, absorbing the sunlight.

Rosie and Violet

Rosie (left) and Violet (right) are both cats from my childhood. Violet currently lives with me in Minneapolis. She enjoys treats, napping in the sun, and watching squirrels through the window.

Murray, a black and brown medium sized dog, sits on his hind legs while his human holds his front paws. Murray is wearing a hot pink headband that says "dog" with an arrow pointing to his face

Murray

Murseph von 2 Electric Boogaloo, aka Murray, has been in my family since February of 2020. He loves burrowing in the snow, going on rides, and being very close to his humans.

Games

I am an avid board gamer and card gamer. I particularly like asymmetrical board games. My favorite board game publisher is Leder Games (based in St. Paul), and I get the vast majority of my board games from Games by James, another Minnesota based company. I also enjoy Dungeons and Dragons and other table top role playing games.

A game mat for Halicarnassus with cards and tokens above for the board game 7 Wonders is sitting on a wooden table.

Some of My Favorites

Please share your board game recommendations with me! I'm always excited to play new things!

Music

I love exploring music. I play a variety of musical instruments, and I am always looking for new music to listen to. My favorite genres are rock and metal, but I will listen to anything and love finding new artists to support. If you have an artist or album that you love, send it my way!

While you're here, I recommend Kiss the Tiger, a Minneapolis based rock band, Bent Knee, an art rock band from Massachusetts, Snow Ghosts, an indie electronic group out of the UK, and King Woman, a metal band from California.

Miscellaneous

I enjoy baking in my free time. The header for this page is a gingerbread cookie rendition of myself and an undergraduate research collaborator presenting our joint work. I like to spend New Years Eve making gingerbread cookie sculptures such as this.

I am a public transit enthusiast, and can proudly say that I have ridden the oldest underground metro in continental Europe.
